Dr. Mark Neamand

Dr. Mark E. Neamand is a board-certified podiatrist who has been in private practice in Park Ridge, IL since 2002. He is a very dedicated, caring physician providing complete foot and ankle care for all ages. Dr. Neamand specializes in diabetic foot care, wound care, surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases and disorders of the foot and ankle. He has performed over 5,000 surgical procedures ranging from routine elective foot surgery to major reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Neamand earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, affiliated with Rosalind Franklin, in 1999. After four years of medical school he graduated and was selected to receive a three-year post-graduate foot and ankle surgical residency. He spent his first year of residency at the North Chicago, V.A. medical center, where he trained extensively in diabetic foot care and limb salvage. The latter part of his residency was at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL. There he spent two years training in rear foot and ankle reconstruction. He was chief resident at St. Joseph Hospital in his final year of training.

Dr. Neamand shared his expertise by teaching residents throughout his professional career and continues to do so at local hospitals. He also educates the public on proper care of various foot and ankle ailments including diabetic foot care at local community centers, nursing homes, senior centers, health fairs and schools.

Dr. Neamand is married and has three children. He enjoys traveling and learning the Italian language.

DR. SCOTT A. JACOBSEN

Dr. Scott Jacobsen attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he received a Bachelors degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. During his time at the university, Dr. Jacobsen kept a very busy schedule; not only with class work but he was also a member of the Newman Singer choir and worked with mentally handicapped patients for a local Social Service agency. It was during this time that he discovered the field of Podiatry.

In 1996, Dr. Jacobsen was accepted to and attended the Dr. William M. School College of Podiatric Medicine in downtown Chicago, IL. After four years of class work, exams and internships he graduated and was accepted to a three-year post-graduate surgical residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL.

During his time in residency he logged over 1200 surgical procedures and was exposed to some of the most difficult and advance surgical procedures. During his third and final year, he attended an advanced fellowship in Atlanta, GA focusing on major rear-foot and reconstructive procedures of the foot and ankle.

It was during his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital that Dr. Jacobsen met Dr. Mark Neamand. Dr. Neamand was the chief resident of the podiatric surgical program and when Dr. Neamand graduated, Dr. Jacobsen was then elected as chief resident.

Like Dr. Neamand, Dr. Jacobsen specializes in Diabetic Foot care, wound care, and surgical and non-surgical correction of all foot problems.

In his free time, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys spending time with his wife and traveling. He is also a part-time musician and plays in several small bands around the Chicago area.
